In a heartwarming gesture, Berkeley Medical Center and Jefferson Medical Center celebrated Hug-a-Joey Day by inviting baby kangaroos to visit their staff, offering a joyful break from their demanding roles in the healthcare community. Organized by Mark O’Hern, President/CEO of WVU Hospitals East, the event featured two kangaroos from Aldinger Farms, bringing smiles to over 150 hospital staff members. Holding the kangaroos provided a rare and delightful experience for many employees, including those like Kaitlyn Hoover and Lauren Abby, who expressed gratitude for a unique opportunity to relax amidst their stressful work environments.
