Serving since 2010, Ihlenfeld made significant strides in tackling drug trafficking and white-collar crime, notably through local initiatives such as domestic violence programs and health care fraud investigations. Under his leadership, the office achieved the highest ranking in drug prosecutions nationwide and successfully prosecuted high-profile cases. His efforts have directly impacted individuals and communities, aiding in the safety of residents in towns like Charles Town and Ranson. Following his departure, an acting U.S. attorney will be appointed to continue these important initiatives, ensuring that the region remains vigilant against crime.
