The Spirit of Jefferson reports that Ranson City Council appointed Jaelyn Wratchford, a Miss West Virginia 2021 winner and community volunteer, to fill an at-large council seat previously held by Mayor Ken Suits. Wratchford, 24, who has deep roots in Ranson, aims to engage young people in local government while promoting community involvement and enhancing social gathering spaces. With her background in business and marketing, she plans to utilize social media to better connect with constituents and boost attendance at local festivals.
