The Jefferson County Museum celebrates its 60th anniversary with a special reopening event featuring a new exhibit highlighting the rich early history of the region. Set for Friday, April 4, from 5-8 p.m., the exhibit will showcase artifacts related to Native American habitation, European colonization, and significant historical events such as the American Revolution. Notable pieces include a Sheetz Rifle barrel and documents signed by Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. The evening will feature hors d’oeuvres, live music, and tickets available for a suggested donation of $10, supporting the museum's preservation efforts. This historic occasion underscores the museum's commitment to educating the local community about its heritage.
