Major Drug Bust in Harpers Ferry Highlights Community Commitment

Jefferson County deputies execute significant drug bust

On February 10, deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, alongside the Special Response Team, executed two search warrants in Harpers Ferry, resulting in a significant drug bust. The operation stemmed from a two-month investigation led by Cpl. G. Kilmer and deputies R. Jenkins and T. Lutman, targeting drug activities at two local residences. Authorities seized over 1,000 suspected fentanyl capsules and approximately 80 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Three individuals were arrested, including a local resident facing felony charges and another from Baltimore. Chief Deputy Victor Lupis praised the efforts of deputies and community cooperation while affirming the commitment to combating drug-related issues in the area, emphasizing the community's intolerance for illegal narcotics trafficking.
