The Jefferson High School Theater Department is set to perform the one-act play “Boxes” at the state competition at Marshall University on March 27-28. This marks a significant return for the department as it's their first in-person performance since 2015 and the first qualification for states post-pandemic. Under the direction of Megan Russell, the play explores themes of personal identity and peer pressure through the character Jack and his interactions with family and friends. The cast, including Felix Alexander as Jack and Luke Viands as Chris, aims to resonate with local audiences by conveying a relatable coming-of-age story rich in local talent.
