During the recent Teacher and Service Personnel of the Year Banquet held in Ranson, Jefferson County Schools honored outstanding staff, recognizing Debra May DeLauney from Jefferson High School as Service Person of the Year and Tommie Lucas from Washington High School as Teacher of the Year. DeLauney, who has dedicated 31 years to her role, emphasizes her calling to serve students, while Lucas shares her lifelong passion for teaching government and forming meaningful relationships with students. The event also highlighted new awards, including Rising Star of the Year for Abigale Noad and Counselor of the Year for Cari Jubb, reflecting the commitment to educational excellence in the area.
