Kearneysville Community Seeks Justice in Firefighter's Death
Investigation continues in 2020 arson that killed local firefighter

In the ongoing investigation of an arson that resulted in the tragic death of Senior Airman Logan Young in Kearneysville, local authorities are diligently pursuing leads. Young, a dedicated firefighter and member of the 167th Airlift Wing, died while responding to a fire in an abandoned barn on December 27, 2020. The community, alongside law enforcement including the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, is still seeking justice as a reward for information related to the case has reached $35,000. Young, a 2008 Millbrook High School graduate, is remembered for his service and bravery, with efforts continuing to identify the perpetrator responsible for this incident in the heart of the area.
