Devil’s Due Distillery in Kearneysville is set for significant enhancements following a $1.2 million matching grant from the USDA’s Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure program. This funding will support the construction of a new 5,600-square-foot operations center, significantly boosting its production capacity from 2,500 to 25,000 bushels of grain annually and enhancing local agriculture by sourcing from nearby farms. Owner Wylie McDade emphasizes the importance of a natural gas distribution line for the new equipment, raising concerns about delays in infrastructure promised by the county, critical for the expansion's success.
