Kearneysville's Four Seas Property Rezoning Proposal Discussed

Four Seas property requests rezoning at Jefferson County Commission meeting

During a Jefferson County Commission meeting on September 4, Brett Cochran presented a request to rezone 51 acres of Four Seas property along Leetown and Charles Town Roads in Kearneysville from rural to residential/light-industrial/commercial (RLIC). The Planning Commission determined that this request contradicted the 2045 Comprehensive Plan, which does not support such zoning amendments and suggests alternative zoning districts instead. Chief County Planner Luke Seigfried provided additional clarification on the planning policies during the session, underscoring the importance of adhering to established guidelines.
