In a recent appointment, Kelvin Upson has joined the Jefferson County Board of Education, filling the seat vacated by Rikki Twyford. Upson, a former member of the Jefferson County Commission, brings extensive experience in education and public service, including a 22-year teaching background and a commitment to enhancing student outcomes. His focus as a board member will be on teacher recruitment, academic achievement, and responsible fiscal management. Upson’s passion for education was sparked by witnessing his children’s growth and educational journey.
