In a recent discussion organized by Our Future West Virginia at the Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History & Education, local candidates emphasized the critical importance of individual voting power. Former Delegate Josh Barker shared his experience of losing an election by just one vote, while city council members Connie Cain and Stephanie Fagan highlighted their narrow victories in Wheeling and Ranson, respectively. Each candidate urged the community to recognize the significant impact that every vote can have on representation, especially in tightly contested local elections, where a few votes can determine outcomes that affect the community's future.
