Local Health Initiatives: Colon Cancer Screenings and Workshops
WVU Medicine is enhancing health awareness in the Eastern Panhandle with initiatives such as at-home colon cancer screening kits available for purchase in Martinsburg and Berkeley Springs. The FIT tests, priced at $25, aim to promote early detection of colorectal cancer during March's Awareness Month. Additionally, they are launching a Chronic Disease Self-Management Program starting March 11, focused on empowering local residents in managing chronic health conditions. An art activity and blood pressure screening event is also scheduled at the Berkeley Medical Center. These programs reflect a strong commitment to community health, providing essential resources and support to residents.
