Local Master Gardeners Shine at State Conference and Upcoming Events
During the weekend of April 11-13, 22 extension master gardeners from the Berkeley-Jefferson Extension Master Gardener Association participated in the WVEMGA Conference at Canaan Valley Resort. They learned from horticultural experts and exchanged project insights with over 150 peers from across the state. Notably, Sharon Coombes was elected President, while Audra Weisenberger joined the WVEMGA as a member-at-large focused on Membership Development. Local honorees for volunteer service included Melanie Files for 20 years and others for their dedicated service. The group is eager to implement their newfound knowledge in the local community, with upcoming events like the Pollinator Habitats session on April 24 and the Annual Plant Sale on May 10 at the Berkeley County Youth Fairgrounds, both aimed at fostering public interest in gardening.
