The West Virginia First Foundation has allocated nearly $10.4 million to 38 organizations across the state to combat the ongoing opioid crisis through prevention, treatment, and recovery initiatives. Among the recipients, Jefferson County Schools was awarded a $50,000 grant to support a drug-use prevention education project aimed at youth workforce development. This funding aims to strengthen community efforts in addressing the significant challenges posed by substance abuse, as highlighted by The Spirit of Jefferson.
