Long Meadow Farm in Shepherdstown, originally built in 1970 as a retreat for Texas Congressman Frank Ikard, has undergone significant renovations since Henry 'Hank' Willard III inherited it in 2018. After making the decision to keep the property, Willard engaged in a comprehensive remodeling project during the pandemic, transforming it into a modern residence while preserving its historic essence. He also took steps to ensure the land’s protection by donating development rights to a conservation easement, reflecting a commitment to preserving the natural and historical character of the area, which is rich in Civil War history and scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
