Pasha Majdi, President of the Jefferson County Commission, recently opened up about his cancer journey after being declared cancer-free. He discussed his battle with advanced cancer and his treatment experiences while expressing gratitude for improved local healthcare services. Working alongside fellow commissioner Cara Keys, he announced plans for a charity 5K race to support cancer initiatives in the area, coinciding with a significant $60 million investment by WVU Medicine into Jefferson Medical Center. This investment aims to enhance local cancer care and accessibility, which Majdi believes is vital for the community and opportunities for job growth. The new Oncology and Infusion Center is slated to open in 2026, reflecting a commitment to improving cancer treatment in the region.
