Marshall Nixes In-State Tuition For Households Under $65K

Marshall University has announced the launch of its 'Tuition-Free WV' initiative, eliminating tuition costs for in-state students from families earning $65,000 or less. This program expands upon the existing Marshall For All initiative, aiming to enhance accessibility to higher education for local students, including those from towns like Charles Town and Ranson. With similar programs introduced by other universities across the state, Marshall President Brad Smith emphasizes the importance of financial accessibility in education. Eligible students will still need to manage living expenses, but the university offers various financial aids to support them. This initiative reflects a broader commitment in the region to reduce financial barriers to education, especially for first-generation college students.
