Martinsburg man pleads guilty to involvement in large-scale drug operation

In a significant drug operation case reported by The Journal, James Reyes, 55, of Martinsburg, has pled guilty to distributing cocaine as part of a trafficking organization operating in the Eastern Panhandle. Arrested along with 24 others in July 2024, Reyes is linked to a large-scale operation that reportedly imported drugs from Puerto Rico and the Sinaloa Cartel. This operation was based out of a Martinsburg auto body shop and fell under an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force investigation that started in 2023, reflecting serious ongoing drug challenges in the region, which includes nearby communities like Harpers Ferry and Charles Town.
