Martinsburg secures nearly $21 million in RAISE grant funding

MARTINSBURG — The Martinsburg Greenway Trail project has received a significant boost with a $20.8 million RAISE grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation. This collaborative initiative, supported by local leaders and organizations, aims to create 6.2 miles of multi-use trails along Tuscarora Creek, enhancing connectivity to various parks and existing trails. Mayor Kevin Knowles expressed gratitude for the support from U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, who played a key role in securing the funding. The transformative project promises to benefit the community of Martinsburg and connect with regional trails, improving infrastructure and quality of life for residents and visitors alike, including those from nearby Ranson and Charles Town.
