A recent pop-up pantry organized by Mercy to Others Ministry at the Adam Stephen Homes in Martinsburg provided essential food support to 22 families, serving 52 individuals in total. The initiative, rooted in community service, aims to address the rising demand for food assistance, having served 7,000 people last year alone. With donations from local businesses like Weis Markets and Food Lion, the pantry operates bi-monthly and plans to expand services to reach more people in Martinsburg, including a new location in the Horatio Gates apartment community. This effort highlights the growing need for support among local families facing difficult choices between housing, transportation, and food.
