In Martinsburg, the local Mercy to Others Ministry has revitalized its community efforts by hosting a pop-up pantry that served 22 families, totaling 52 individuals, at the Adam Stephen Homes. This faith-based nonprofit, which relies on donations from local businesses like Weis Markets and Family Dollar, aims to combat the growing need for food assistance, having served 7,000 people last year alone. As they expand their reach to a new pantry at Horatio Gates and seek additional sites in the area, the ministry emphasizes their commitment to supporting families in need, which has become increasingly vital as residents balance necessities like housing and transportation.
