Eight students from Saint Joseph School in Martinsburg excelled in an American history essay contest, illustrating their thoughts on participating in a tea party protest during the 1770s. Sponsored by the Pack Horse Ford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the contest featured 124 students from local schools, including Mill Creek Intermediate and Faith Christian Academy. Winners will receive prizes and advance to state-level competition, with a ceremony scheduled for March 8 at the Shepherdstown train station, highlighting the region's commitment to honoring academic achievements in history.
