On Tuesday, high school students and families came together at Jefferson High School for a MedEd signing ceremony, marking the start of the school’s third cohort in the program. Students like Jessica Marquez, who aspires to work in health care, are eager to gain real-world medical experience through various career focuses offered alongside Jefferson County Schools, WVU Medicine, and Blue Ridge Community and Technical College. Current students showcased practical skills, providing insight into what newcomers can expect, emphasizing the importance of hands-on experience in the medical field. Funded partly by a substantial grant, this initiative allows local students to pursue paid internships in health care, paving the way for their future careers.
