Memorial Day Events in the Region Honor Fallen Soldiers

The Panhandle News Network reports on various events honoring fallen soldiers in the Martinsburg and surrounding areas. On May 26, 2025, the Bolivar/Harpers Ferry Memorial Day Parade will kick off at 9:00 am, followed by a speaking event at Harpers Ferry Middle School. A significant ceremony will take place at War Memorial Park in Martinsburg at 11:00 am, featuring keynote speaker Senator Tom Willis and a touching tribute where names of post 9-11 fallen service members will be read. Additional ceremonies include those hosted by the Morris Frock American Legion Post No. 42 in Hagerstown, a Decoration Day ceremony at the African American Cemetery, and wreath-laying ceremonies in Sharpsburg and Boonsboro, all showcasing community remembrance and patriotism.
