Middleway community leaders reflect positively on turbulent year

In a year marked by both celebration and conflict, Middleway leaders reflect on the success of the 35th Middleway Day, which turned a profit for the first time, and the launch of popular ghost tours that attracted visitors interested in local history. Despite challenges from Sidewinder Enterprises' proposed water bottling plant, community solidarity prevailed, culminating in the plan's unanimous rejection by the Jefferson County Planning Commission and the town’s designation as an endangered property by The Preservation Alliance of West Virginia. As leaders look ahead, efforts to preserve Middleway’s charm continue to strengthen community ties.
