In Harpers Ferry, the Advanced Training Center for the U.S. Office of Homeland Security unveiled Monarch Hall, aimed at enhancing training for U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel. Senator Shelley Moore Capito, Congressman Riley Moore, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristy Noem highlighted the facility's significance in combating the fentanyl crisis impacting the area and its role as an economic driver for local communities. Capito noted her involvement in securing over $30 million for the center, and humorously remarked on the ceremony's indoor location due to the excessive heat, emphasizing the center's importance to the region’s future.
