In December 2024, Monroe County saw significant business growth with a 1.37% increase, registering 10 new businesses, according to the WV Secretary of State's Office. This growth positioned Monroe County at the top for new business registrations, outperforming its neighbors. Other counties like Wirt, Mason, Wetzel, and Morgan also showed notable growth. Meanwhile, Kanawha County led in total business registrations with 104 new entries. Statewide, West Virginia registered 843 new businesses in December and saw an overall total of 13,518 new establishments during the year. This trend reflects a thriving entrepreneurial spirit in regions surrounding the county's vibrant towns, including Charles Town and Ranson, contributing to local economic development.
