Morgan Academy Students Prepare for WVU Pumpkin Drop with Fire Department's Help

Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department assists Morgan Academy with Pumpkin Drop

In a recent article by The Journal, thirteen students from Morgan Academy in Shepherdstown prepare to compete in the 35th Annual Pumpkin Drop at WVU on October 25. Mentored by parents and their science teacher, the students conducted practice trials with the help of the Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department, which provided a ladder truck for a 105-foot drop of their pumpkin prototypes. The students experimented with five designs, aiming to craft the best entry for the upcoming competition, which also serves as a fundraiser for the Morgantown Ronald McDonald House. Emphasizing both learning and fun, the team expresses gratitude to the fire department for enhancing their practice with excitement and safety.
