Morgan’s Grove Park in Shepherdstown has unveiled a charming new mural created by four local alumni from Shepherd University, inspired by classic storybooks and native Appalachian wildlife. Commissioned by the Shepherdstown Community Club, the mural captures playful scenes such as a band of animals and a picnic, bringing a vibrant splash of color to the park and enhancing the experience for children visiting the nearby playground. Puttock, one of the artists, recalls similar impactful murals from her childhood, emphasizing the importance of art and literature in creating joyous memories for the community. The project was funded by a grant from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts.
