In April 2025, the West Virginia Secretary of State's Office reported 1,352 new business registrations across the state, including significant contributions from local areas like Charles Town and Ranson. The highlights include 127 new businesses in Kanawha County and 126 in Berkeley County. Notably, 171 businesses qualified for fee waiver programs that benefit veterans and young entrepreneurs. Overall, the state saw 13,835 new businesses registered in the past year, with a local growth rate of 19.23% in Raleigh County. The WVSOS demonstrated strong support for entrepreneurs, assisting over 4,000 customers through various outreach services, a vital resource for budding business owners in the region.
