New First Responders Enhance Emergency Services in Martinsburg

Berkeley County Commission recognizes new first responders, agrees to take Jefferson County Day Report participants

During a recent meeting, the Berkeley County Commission recognized 21 new first responders, including 12 firefighters and nine emergency telecommunicators, a significant addition for local emergency services. Jennifer Swisher, the emergency communications director, noted that this influx will greatly enhance capability, particularly in responding to emergencies throughout the region, including towns like Charles Town and Ranson. The new telecommunicators are set to complete training by late April, ensuring they are well-prepared to handle calls effectively.
