In Kearneysville, Jefferson County Parks and Recreation has launched new after-school programs at North Jefferson Elementary School, allowing students to engage in sports and outdoor activities right after class. This initiative builds on the success of last year's Books, Bikes and Basketballs Club and aims to create a vibrant community while providing parents the opportunity to have peace of mind knowing their children are in a safe environment. Programs, including the Afterschool Kickers Club and Nature Club, start shortly after school lets out, fostering youth connection and skill-building as emphasized by recreation coordinators and school staff. For more details, visit the Parks and Recreation website.
