On April 3, Four Seasons Books in Shepherdstown hosted an open house benefiting Read Aloud West Virginia, where over $500 was raised in book sales and donations. Board member Casey Willson highlighted the importance of local bookstores in fostering literacy among students. The event will establish a yearly partnership with ongoing book donations from local teachers, emphasizing the role of reading in improving test scores and literacy skills in children. Additionally, it led to new volunteer sign-ups for the organization, which actively promotes reading in schools across the state.
