Fifth graders at Ranson Elementary engaged in an exciting hands-on science experience with Texas A&M educator Dr. Craig Wilson, who visited as part of the USDA’s Future Scientists program. Coordinated by Michelle Bailey from the West Virginia Farm Bureau, the event included a rocket science experiment emphasizing observation and inquiry. Students also learned about insects as potential food sources for astronauts, providing a unique opportunity to interact with Madagascar hissing cockroaches. Wilson aims to inspire local students through these interactive lessons and will continue his tour at several other local schools.
