The Spirit of Jefferson reports that, thanks to grant funding, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has fully staffed its department for the first time in four years, with the addition of three new deputies all previously from the Ranson Police Department. Sheriff Tom Hansen announced plans to hire one more deputy, bringing the total to 37 officers. The new hires, being state-certified, can begin serving within weeks, significantly improving law enforcement resources in the area, which includes the towns of Charles Town and Harpers Ferry.
