At a recent city council meeting, Mayor Ken Suits announced Robert Miller as the new police chief for Ranson following the self-demotion of Robbie Roberts. Miller, a 53-year-old retired lieutenant colonel from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, has deep connections to the community, having started his law enforcement career in Shepherdstown and served in Ranson's police department during the 1990s. After feeling a strong call to return to law enforcement, Miller expressed his excitement at being chosen to lead the Ranson Police Department, a role he embraces with pride for its significance to his family's ties in the area, as reported by The Spirit of Jefferson.
