A storm in Charles Town led to the evacuation of 87 residents from Charles Towers Apartments after half the building's roof was ripped off by strong winds. The evacuation process began around 7 p.m., with residents taken to the Ranson Civic Center, where the American Red Cross established an emergency shelter. Local officials, including Mayor Mike George and Ranson Councilwoman Stephanie Fagan, provided assistance and organized community support for displaced individuals, many of whom required medical help. Volunteers from various organizations contributed food and helped clear debris, highlighting the strong community spirit in Ranson and Charles Town following this weather disaster.
