Rotary Clubs Bring Storytime to Local First Graders
Volunteers from the Charles Town and Shepherdstown Rotary clubs recently engaged with 1st graders across four local elementary schools by reading 'If You Give a Pig a Party' and gifting each child a copy of the book. This initiative, started in 2023, sees club members visit schools four times a year, enhancing literacy and fostering a love for reading among young students in towns such as Ranson and Blue Ridge. The Rotary clubs cover all book expenses, making this program an invaluable resource for local educators and children.
