A Ranson business lost $6,000 after being tricked by a false email regarding city fees. In response, the City of Ranson implemented a measure to protect citizen information by redacting email addresses from public records. Mayors, including Ranson's Ken Suits and Charles Town's Mike George, have confirmed multiple incidents of fraudulent attempts, highlighting a growing concern for local officials amid ongoing investigations.
