On January 27, the Berkeley and Jefferson County Extension Master Gardeners will host a Seed Swap Day event at the Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., gardeners can exchange both vegetable and flower seeds or take up to three packs even if they don’t have seeds to swap. Rooted in a tradition that started in D.C. in 2006, the event highlights the growing interest in gardening among local residents. Attendees can not only gather heirloom seeds for their gardens but also enjoy door prizes, including gift cards and gardening starter kits, emphasizing the community aspect of gardening in the region.
