In a collaborative effort to give back to the community, Shepherd University students and staff have launched the Our Campus Cares (OCC) initiative, developed by the Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Student Community Services. This initiative aims to unite campus efforts around specific charitable causes each semester, exemplifying Shepherd’s commitment to service. Goals include collecting 100 Thanksgiving food baskets, 100 toys, fulfilling 25 Angel Tags for local children, and filling 25 stockings for middle schoolers. Donations can be made in person or online until respective deadlines of November 18 and December 6, as detailed by Melanie Ford, the university's coordinator of student community services.
