Shepherd University students place in West Virginia Innovation + Business Model Competition

Students from Shepherd University, located in Shepherdstown, achieved notable success at the West Virginia Innovation + Business Model Competition, taking two of the top three prizes. Senior Malakai Hanson won second place with his beekeeping venture, Humble Hives, while freshman Logan Moiles and high school partner McKenna Valasek secured third place for their food truck, Simply Smoothies. Valasek further demonstrated her entrepreneurial skills by winning an additional prize during a related financial competition, showcasing the innovative spirit fostered by local educational institutions.
