Dr. Mary J.C. Hendrix, who has served as President of Shepherd University since 2016, announced her decision to step down at the end of the school year during a Board of Governors meeting on September 11. As the university's first graduate to assume the presidency and its 16th president overall, Hendrix leaves behind a decade of leadership and significant contributions to the educational community, which includes the Charles Town and Harpers Ferry areas. Her educational background, with a Ph.D. in anatomical sciences, highlights her commitment to academic excellence.
