The Student Leadership Conference 2025 at Shepherd University, a cherished tradition for over 40 years, gathered 102 students in Shepherdstown to enhance their leadership skills. Assistant director Rachael Meads emphasized the importance of self-compassion and personal development, encouraging students to view themselves as leaders despite their young age. The event featured keynote speakers like retired U.S. Air Force general Robert Foglesong and educator Daniel Caron, who shared vital leadership insights and soft skills necessary for effective interaction, aligning well with the area's commitment to student empowerment.
