Shepherd University Hosts Literacy Conference and Local Events
The Journal reports that Shepherd University is hosting the 10th annual Literacy Leaders Conference on March 22, aimed at K-12 educators. The event features workshops on literacy and will include keynote speaker Katie Madrid, a Charles Town native and 2024 Teacher of the Year. Additionally, Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church is holding a spaghetti dinner on February 15 to support its scholarship fund. The Potomac Valley Audubon Society's monthly program on American Kestrels is scheduled for February 13 at the Robert C. Byrd Center in Shepherdstown, and the Blue & Grey Barbershop Chorus will offer Singing Valentines for delivery on February 14.
