Shepherd University students engaged in a significant program designed to enhance their writing skills while actively connecting with local representatives. On a recent Tuesday, the collaboration between the Shepherd Writing Project, Common Reading program, and TRIO Student Services saw students pen a dozen letters addressing important issues following discussions centered around the Common Reading book, 'Democracy Awakening.' With support from faculty like Heidi Hanrahan and Hannah Williams-McNamee, students not only learned the process of writing but were also encouraged to explore multiple communication avenues, fostering a sense of civic engagement that resonates throughout Shepherdstown and beyond.
