The Journal reports that Shepherd University will host the 51st TUBACHRISTMAS concert on December 14 at 1 p.m. in front of McMurran Hall. This free event celebrates all musicians who play instruments in the tuba family, inviting both attendees and local high school band students to join in. Dr. Scott Hippensteel, Interim Director of the Shepherd University School of Music, emphasizes the importance of providing young musicians with public performance experience. TUBACHRISTMAS was created in 1974 by Harvey Phillips, honoring his mentor William J. Bell, born on Christmas Day.
