On Saturday, Morgan's Grove Park in Shepherdstown hosted the 250th anniversary of the Bee Line March, commemorating the historic journey of 98 men from Shepherdstown to Cambridge during the Revolutionary War. Organizer Peter Smith highlighted the significance of this event, attracting attendees from across the country, including Tandy Meng, a descendant of Captain Hugh Stephenson, leader of the march. The day featured a variety of activities, including reenactor encampments and performances by the West Virginia University Mountaineer Fifes & Drums, celebrating the roots of the Army and honoring those who contributed to America's founding. The event underscored the rich history of Shepherdstown and the enduring legacy of revolutionary values.
