Bill and Donna Hiatt of Shepherdstown possess what may be the largest private art collection in the Eastern Panhandle, showcasing nearly 300 pieces that span from the 18th to the 21st century. The couple, who have a history in the antiques business, emphasize their passion for collecting unique artworks, including naive and outsider art, rather than focusing on investment value. Their commitment to supporting emerging artists is evident through their longtime friendship with professional artist Kevin Fitzgerald. This collection reflects the artistic richness that residents of Shepherdstown and nearby areas, like Ranson and Harpers Ferry, can appreciate, as shared in the Shepherdstown Chronicle.
